Criminal Appeal Against Conviction:- On 29 January 2003 the appellant was convicted of the murder of his wife, Arlene, who disappeared from her home on 28 April 1998 and was never seen again. Criminal Appeal Against Conviction:- On 23 March 2004 the appellant was found guilty of a charge of murder by a unanimous verdict of the jury at Aberdeen High Court. During the course of the trial the main line of defence was a special defence of incrimination.
