A private investigator could not claim privilege from self-incrimination in respect of orders for disclosure in connection with the alleged unlawful interception of voicemail messages. The Senior Courts Act 1981 s 72 applied since the information intercepted fell within "technical or commercial information or other intellectual property" which should not be narrowly construed. Claims alleging breach of contract and breach of confidence, concerning the recipe for a product sold under the trade mark "Reggae Reggae Sauce", were dismissed.
